Roca Events held at Roca headquarters

Roca’s Events recognizes and strengthen relationships with our communities, partners and young people. Roca organizes unique events that will help address the issues of poverty and violence and that this is not just about Roca but it’s about a call to action for leadership, for parents, for communities to not lose any more young people.

Roca’s events connect people across boundaries of business, philanthropy and community, building understanding and creating the capacity to work with the young people we serve. The events facilitate meaningful conversations and provide tools to inspire personal reflection, transformation and connection with Roca and others across sectors and professions.

Arts Café and Peace Day at Roca:

Roca’s Arts Initiative is another way Roca works with our young people. By coupling arts curricula with educational, life and pre-vocational skills-building, young people are both given a safe venue for self expression and provide a foundation for economic self-sufficiency.

In order to achieve successful arts café’s and events in Roca’s headquarters in which young people host and organize, Roca engages program participants in stage-based Dance, Music, Video and Theatre courses and they in return;

  • Host and perform at several major arts-related events and fundraisers (accommodating between 400-800 audience members per event), including an MLK Day celebration, Roca Peace Day, and the Annual Roca breakfast, all of which are attended by multiple celebrities and professional artists
  • host 4 Arts Cafes where 150 participants will perform/share various creative undertakings;
  • Participants produce original music pieces and create their CD and documentary for the purpose of promoting Roca’s work within the community;
  • and by participating in Roca art’s café’s participants increase community presence and outreach through dance performances, theatre productions and musical entertainment
